| UKDP was formally started in October 2010 The initial launch event was a major success and an enjoyable weekend for everybody who visited. The event will include painting workshops, make and takes and the ability to pick the brains of the country's most experienced and enthusiastic painters. After bringing over international artists Maxine Thomas, Bobbi Takashima and Arlene Linton in the past year to teach their styles of decorative painting around the country, UKDP is once again holding a public roadshow. Exhibitors so far confirmed are; Flutterby Crafts of Berkshire Jo Sonja paints, Glassware and Canvas. Heather's Books A huge variety of decorative painting books and magazines from Heather Hess who most people will remember from Auscraft. Country Love Crafts from Oxfordshire. Decoart and Ceramic Ware MDFMan from, erm. here. A wide range of MDF Blanks, shapes, boxes, letters etc. Pretty much everything. Confirmed Make and Takes Ann Wilson Design on square coasters. | UKDP Aims and Objectives |
| 1. To ensure that the
skills of all styles of decorative painting do not die out by the introduction of an education programme providing training in all the techniques and aspects of decorative painting for future generations to enjoy. |
| 2. To set up an online
painting forum, where questions and advice will be available from members by the sharing of information and knowledge. |
| 3. To provide
opportunities for
increasing knowledge by inviting experienced and respected teachers to run classes. |
| 4. To ensure that all
members understand and agree to sign up to a code of conduct where integrity, respect and trust are accompanied by professional behavioural. |
| 5. To organise a
national event within the first year. |
| 6. To establish and
launch a newsletter which contains painting information, and is an up-to-date and accurate source of what’s happening throughout the country. |
| 7. To launch a website
where among other enterprising initiatives, a library of original projects would be available. |
